BOGOR - RS Marzoeki Mahdi, in collaboration with Puskesmas Gang Kelor, provided screening, counseling, and drug abuse counseling to hundreds of students at the Yayasan Kejuruan Teknologi Baru (YKTB) Vocational High School in Bogor on Monday (02/17/2025).
The health promotion team from RS Marzoeki Mahdi, consisting of Iyep Yudiana and Desy Herawati, provided counseling on the dangers of drugs, how to avoid them, and how to overcome addiction. The counseling was conducted using interactive methods, including discussions, question-and-answer sessions, games, and experience sharing.
Iyep Yudiana and Desy Herawati explained the stages of drug use, from curiosity to addiction. They emphasized the dangers of overdose, police arrest, and death from drugs.
"There are several stages of drug use commonly experienced by addicts, including: Curiosity stage, experimentation stage, recreational stage, situational stage, and addiction stage. Never use drugs if you don't want to end up in the hospital due to overdose, in prison due to police arrest, and in the morgue due to death," explained Iyep.
The Puskesmas Gang Kelor team, consisting of Dewi Haryanti, Dea Permata Sari, Ririh Setyo Krisnanti, and Utami Budi Mulyaningrum, conducted health screenings for the students.
In addition to counseling and screening, counseling was also provided to several students to address their concerns, whether related to school, friendships, or family. A student who participated in the counseling expressed their longing for warm communication with their parents at home.
"Actually, my parents rarely communicate at home, once there's a problem my father always gets angry, sometimes it's uncomfortable when they argue in front of me. I really want to be able to talk together, joke around during meals, that's enough," said one of the students.
The Principal of SMK YKTB Bogor, Kusnadi, stated that the school has been improving in recent years by implementing various new rules, such as congregational duha prayers, counseling services, and approaches to problematic students.
"In recent years, we have been improving various rules, now we have accustomed ourselves to congregational duha prayers, congregational prayers, counseling services, guidance counseling teachers, and approaches to several problematic students," said Kusnadi.
