BOGOR – A nutritionist from RS Marzoeki Mahdi provided education on stunting prevention at Posyandu Bougenvile A, RW 08, Cilendek Timur Village, Bogor Barat, on Monday (January 13, 2025).
Nunung Nurusalma, a nutritionist from RS Marzoeki Mahdi, explained that stunting is a growth disorder caused by chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections.
"Stunting is a growth and development disorder in toddlers caused by chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections, characterized by a child's height being lower than expected for their age," she said.
Iyep Yudiana, a health educator, added material on the importance of maintaining mental health. "There are five keys to maintaining mental health: feeling happy and content, thinking positively, good communication, recreation, and practicing worship and prayer," said Iyep.
The event also included health checkups for children, consisting of weight and height measurements, head and arm circumference checks, immunizations, record-keeping in the maternal and child health book, and the distribution of supplementary food. The activity involved Posyandu Bougenvile A cadres and staff from Puskesmas Gang Kelor Bogor.
The Head of Cilendek Timur Village, Dedy Rusmana, expressed his appreciation for the activity. “I hope this Posyandu service can be beneficial, and mothers can regularly attend this Posyandu,” he remarked.
