SOUTH TANGERANG - In collaboration with South Tangerang City, Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital carried out mass examinations and evacuations for people with severe mental disorders (ODGJ). This activity took place at the East Ciputat District Office, South Tangerang City, Banten, Wednesday (15/5/2024).
Head of the Prevention and Control (P2P) Division of the South Tangerang City Health Service (Dinkes), Eliwedi Erni, said that this activity helped deal with mental health problems in his area.
"Thank you to the health team at Marzoeki Mahdi Bogor Hospital, who have helped treat ODGJ in South Tangerang City," he said when opening this activity directly.
Meanwhile, Iyep Yudiana as a health instructor at Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital, conveyed education to patients and families that this treatment is not the end of the patient's recovery process.
"Treatment for ODGJ at Marzoeki Mahdi Bogor Hospital is not the end of the patient's treatment, but is the beginning of the patient's continuous recovery process through taking medication and regular control," he said.
The Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital team of doctors consisting of Widayanti Dewi Wulandari as a psychiatrist, and Joan Sandra as a general practitioner, and another team of nurses succeeded in examining 26 ODGJ who were present at the activity location and determined that 21 ODGJ needed to be evacuated to receive care, treatment and rehabilitation at the hospital. "There are several patients who do not need to be treated because their condition is quite good and they regularly go to the puskesmas for treatment and there are also patients' families who refuse to be treated even though they have been given an explanation," said the psychiatrist who is familiarly called Wulan.
The handover of 21 ODGJs was carried out between the South Tangerang City Health & Social Services Department to Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital and one by one the ODGJs were taken to board the bus that had been prepared by Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital, accompanied by the reading of basmalah together from all the participants who accompanied them to the Bogor city.
