BOGOR – Hundreds of students from SMP PGRI 1 Bogor received education on juvenile delinquency, drug prevention, and HIV/AIDS. The event was organized by Puskesmas Sempur in collaboration with RS Marzoeki Mahdi on Tuesday (10/12/2024).
The session began with an explanation of juvenile delinquency, including behaviors such as fighting, skipping school, smoking, and engaging in risky sexual activities. The impacts range from criminal behavior and drug addiction to sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS.
Isna Vita Fauziah, a mental health program officer at Puskesmas Sempur, opened the session by discussing the consequences of juvenile delinquency that students must avoid.
"You are in an age group vulnerable to various risks of juvenile delinquency. Today, you will learn about these behaviors, their consequences, and how to prevent drug use and HIV/AIDS," said Isna.
Health educators Iyep Yudiana and Desy Herawaty started the session by screening a health education video from another school. The goal was to inspire students of SMP PGRI 1 Bogor to become a school free from juvenile delinquency, drugs, and HIV/AIDS.
"Juvenile delinquency takes many forms, such as fighting, smoking, skipping school, risky sexual behavior, drug use, bullying, and theft," Iyep explained to the attentive audience of students and teachers.
Teachers at SMP PGRI 1 Bogor emphasized the importance of this session in raising students' awareness about the dangers of juvenile delinquency and how to prevent it. The event concluded with enthusiastic student participation, which continued until the session ended.
One of the teachers, Yaya Ruhaya, stated that the session was highly beneficial as it provided students with an understanding of the dangers of juvenile delinquency, drugs, and risky behaviors, as well as the negative consequences that could arise.
"This session is very beneficial for students, as they are informed about the dangers of juvenile delinquency, drug abuse, and risky behaviors, along with their potential impacts," she said. (PKRS)
