Mental Health Education and Screening at the Bogor City P3A Service

BOGOR - The National Center for Mental Health (PKJN) Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital held a "Mental Health Talkshow" activity at the Bogor City Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Service (P3A) on Tuesday (10/15/2024). This activity was carried out to commemorate World Mental Health Day (HKJS), with the theme "Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace".

The Chairperson of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) PKJN Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital, Marleni Desnita, said that this activity included early detection, education, and mental health counseling. "Today we focus on screening, psychoeducation, and counseling, in accordance with the HKJS theme," she said.

The team from PKJN Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital consists of counselors, clinical psychologists, and mental health nurses. In addition to providing education on mental health, both parties plan to collaborate with the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of the Bogor City P3A Service. This collaboration is expected to include further treatment through patient referrals, especially women and children who need more attention in mental health.

Marleni added, the President Director of PKJN RS Marzoeki Mahdi has also developed a special instrument for suicide prevention, which will later be implemented in various schools. "We will collaborate with the P3A Service to provide education and disseminate this instrument as a step for early detection of suicide risk in adolescents," said Marleni.

Welly Dody Ahdiat as the Head of DWP Bogor City, one of the parties involved in this collaboration, hopes that this collaboration can continue and become a solution in handling problems that occur, especially related to women and children's issues. (Public Relations/R)
