PKJN RS Marzoeki Mahdi Holds Public Consultation Forum

BOGOR – In order to gather input from service users, the National Center for Mental Health (PKJN) of RS Marzoeki Mahdi held a Public Consultation Forum at the Heritage Golf Field Hall, Bogor, on Thursday (July 24, 2025). The event was attended by the hospital’s directors and management as service providers, along with stakeholders comprising service users, practitioners, related institutions, civil society organizations, and the media.

In her opening remarks, Director of Medical and Nursing Services, Rahmi Handayani, stated that PKJN RS Marzoeki Mahdi needs to convey its latest services to the public and listen to input from stakeholders regarding the services that have been provided.

"Many treatment modalities have yet to be utilized by our patients, such as TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) and ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy). These are actually neuromodulation therapies that can help restore impaired functions, particularly in patients with mental disorders," she said.

The available therapies are not limited to mental health conditions. Rahmi added that non-psychiatric disorders can also be treated with these therapies.

“However, these therapies are not only for mental health issues, but also for other physical conditions. For example, TMS has also been found useful in treating neurological conditions such as learning difficulties or nerve disorders. In addition, we provide Neurofeedback, EEG (Electroencephalography), and EMG (Electromyography), which may not be available at every hospital,” she concluded.

Medical Service Assistant Manager, Amelia Ulfah, presented the various services available at PKJN RS Marzoeki Mahdi. Forum participants also shared their feedback, such as encouraging the formation of a special team or organizing training for community health center (puskesmas) staff to enable them to pick up patients with severe mental disorders (ODGJ) directly from their homes; expressing appreciation for PKJN RS Marzoeki Mahdi’s initiative to make pharmaceutical services more accessible; and suggesting the addition of a children's play area within the hospital premises.

The event was attended by representatives from the Bogor City Health Office, Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) Bogor Chapter, Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) Bogor Chapter, Subdistrict Social Welfare Workers (TKSK) in Bogor City, Sindang Barang Community Health Center (Puskesmas), LPM, KPSI, neighborhood association leaders (RT), Radar Bogor, Kisi FM, as well as patients and their families.
