Prospective Brides and Grooms Receive Mental Health Tips

BOGOR – A total of 13 engaged couples received counseling on maintaining mental health and preventing stunting at the West Bogor Religious Affairs Office (KUA), Bogor, on Tuesday (January 21, 2025). This regular activity is a collaboration between the Bogor City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office and RS Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital.

Nunung Nurusalma, a nutritionist from RS Marzoeki Mahdi, delivered material on the importance of consuming nutritious food for prospective brides to prepare for pregnancy.
"Why is stunting a topic for engaged couples? Because future wives will go through pregnancy and take care of babies who need proper nutrition to prevent stunting during the first 1,000 days of life," said Nunung, opening the health counseling session.

Iyep Yudiana, a health counselor from RS Marzoeki Mahdi, led the second session of health counseling by sharing mental preparation tips for engaged couples. The session included personal experiences and interactive discussions with the attendees.
"The five tips for mental preparation for engaged couples are: getting to know yourself and your partner, building a shared commitment, managing conflicts effectively, adapting to changes, and setting mutual goals," he explained.

The engaged couples appreciated the activity, as it could serve as valuable preparation for their future married life.

"This session was very informative, entertaining, and beneficial for us as engaged couples. We hope the information on stunting prevention and mental health becomes a useful guide for us in the future," said one of the participants shortly before the health counseling and education program concluded.
